Hi! My name is Jennifer Hankins and I currently teach 6th grade at Lucerne Valley Elementary School. This is my third year of teaching and prior to this year, I taught 5th grade for two years.
I enjoy teaching upper-grade students because you can have deeper conversations with them. They are starting to form into the adults they will later become and I hope to have a positive influence on that formation. Teaching has always been my dream. It is important that my students learn to think critically and problem-solve. These skills will make them successful in any avenue of life. I don't want to be the center of my classroom, I believe that is where the students should be. They should be an active participant in their education while I guide and facilitate the process.
